SAW Traditional Heavyweight Uniform
The SAW Traditional Heavyweight Uniform is the original heavyweight Vintage Style uniform created by TOKAIDO's founder at the direction of various sensei in Japan. Made of 100% 12oz no.10 cotton canvas, the SAW uses TOKAIDO's original "Standard Cut"of longer sleeves and trousers with a shorter jacket. Created from the requests of karate's pioneers the SAW still remains a favorite of traditional karate practitioners even today.
Please click here for the SAW Traditional Heavyweight Measurement Size Chart to confirm that the uniform has the measurements you desire for a proper fit.

Tokaido Japan provides the highest quality embroidery in Japanese or English. No company can surpass the level of embroidery perfected by Tokaido. You may choose to embroider your style name and/or your personal name in the general locations designated in the uniform graphic. For Japanese text, please select from the pop up menus by clicking on the Kanji Style Names or the Names in Japanese Katakana below the field that you desire. If your Style or Name is not in the menu then use this Google Translate link https://translate.google.com/#en/ja/ to CREATE and then COPY and PASTE into the field(s) you desire. We will confirm that the translation is correct before production. If you prefer English/Roman letters, then type directly in the field(s) of your choice.
As with all uniforms that are made in Japan by Tokaido Japan, each uniform is made as it is ordered. This way we can ensure that you receive the best uniform possible. Currently unembroidered uniforms require 1 week and embroidered uniforms require 3 weeks.

A Quality Gi
Posted by Rafael Algarin on 2nd Feb 2018
I have not bought a new gi in many years. So, the fit and feel of the new gi took a little getting used to. But in the end, it is the best feeling and fitting gi I've ever owned. My only suggestion is if you're accustomed to size 6, go half size larger to 6.5.

I have practiced Karate for 45 years and I have always worn a Tokaido Karate Gi. A real quality product. Well made, comfortable and importantly, they look great. First class craftsmanship and made with the best materials. I also found the communication and attention I recieved from the company when ordering was professional and reassuring, I never wear anything else. I think Tokaido Karate Gi's are a 'must' for the serious Karateka.
