The Grand Master BLH is our absolute finest. The Grand Master is made of a 100% thick canvas core, covered with an outer layer of special high grade silk. Available in standard and extra width. For EXTRA WIDTH belts choose one size longer so that the embroidery will not be lost in the knot when tied. The Grand Master is designed to last and wear down slowly giving it a time honored feel.
Custom Embroidery
Tokaido Japan provides the highest quality embroidery in Japanese or English. No company can surpass the level of embroidery perfected by Tokaido.
The secret in the manufacturing of our belts is that the parts are cut and embroidered separately before being assembled and sewn together. This is the reason why they are so strong, neat and beautifully finished. The embroidery will not show through on the reverse side. This is the hallmark of a true, Made in Japan - Tokaido Black Belt.
In TOKAIDO’s continuing commitment to quality and customer service we have decided to add 3 font options for our black belt embroidery. Below from left to right we are offering:
Left Choice 昇龍 translated as “Rising Dragon”. (Default font)
Middle Choice 太行書 translated as “Bold Cursive”.
Right Choice 龍神 translated as “Dragon God”.
Each kanji font has it’s own character with the Left Choice described as crisp and clear, the Middle Choice characterized as strong and bold, and the Right Choice as sophisticated and detailed. TOKAIDO is happy to provide this choice and we hope you will appreciate these new options.
Please note: the Left Choice 昇龍 “Rising Dragon” is the default font and will be used if neither of the other two are chosen.
You may choose to embroider your style name and/or your personal name. For Japanese text, please select from the pop up menus by clicking on the Kanji Style Names or the Names in Japanese Katakana below the field that you desire. If your Style or Name is not in the menu then use this Google Translate link https://translate.google.com/#en/ja/ to CREATE and then COPY and PASTE into the field(s) you desire. We will confirm that the translation is correct before production. If you prefer English/Roman letters, then type directly in the field(s) of your choice.
Production Time
As with all kuruoobi that are made in Japan by Tokaido Japan, each uniform is made as it is ordered. This way we can ensure that you receive the best belt possible. Currently un-embroidered belts require 3 weeks and embroidered belts require 5 weeks.

More than expected

This belt is just awesome, beautiful and perfect, it shines but is not exaggerated, I would recommend to pick the standard size and not the extra wide if you are not going to embroider it, cause it will be easier to keep the knot done, I made a mistake with the size cause I measured my old one and it was 284 cm. therefore I ordered size 5 which is 280 cm but I feel it short, probably I will order it again but in size 6, definitely I thing it's the best belt you will ever have.

First of all thank you for the belt, and to everyone who worked on it.
Belt is excellent quality, simply perfection.
It would be nice to also have option for labels at least from the major Okinawan traditional styles of Karate Do. TOKAIDO note: Thank you and we are glad you like it.

This is the third black belt I have bought and again the quality and the service were without doubt excellent.
this is the last one in our family but if there was another we would buy from here!

Hands down the best - Grand Master Black Belt with complex dragon god embroidery

This was my fifth order from Tokaido in the last 2 to 3 years. I now realize what I had been missing on in my first 40 years of Shotokan Karate. At least now I know who I am going to buy from in the next 40 years. The new Dragon God embroidery is a treat. Beautiful and precise. The finest materials coupled with Tokaido's famous craftsmanship. I absolutely recommend Tokaido products - specially the Gis and belts to all family and friends at the dojo. Great products, good purchase experience and a reliable company. My only recommendation is that you read carefully the measurement charts and product description before placing your order as the return process may be cumbersome for some countries.

Amazing belt, looks perfect, soft at touch. Not yet in use, my son is going for the BB in two weeks. It arrived relatively in time, but it was ordered after Christmas, in a period when companies are submerged by orders. Hope I will buy one for me too in the future!!!!

Ottima cintura . Qualità generale e dei ricami veramente al top . Arrivata anche prima del previsto . Ho seguito il consiglio di prenderla qualche centimetro più lunga in quanto spessore e larghezza sono più ampi delle cinture economiche ed é perfetta . Ogni karateka dovrebbe averne una.
Translation: Excellent belt. Overall quality and really top embroidery. Arrived even earlier than expected. I followed the advice to take it a few centimeters longer as thickness and width are wider than economic belts and it is perfect. Every karateka should have one.

Black belt master embroidered

The belt arrived on time. It was just as I ordered, nice quality. The company have communicated well with regards to production status and delivery. The only thing is they do not sell a box that will accommodate this belt which is a shame as I would be happy to purchase one from them. I would suggest that after spending a significant amount of money on the belt I would have been happy to invest in a suitable belt box for it. The belt came in a clear plastic bag which was a little disappointing. However the belt itself is first class, the company are good to deal with, I highly recommend them and have bought another belt from them as well.

Very beautiful obi and excellent craftsmanship! The Kanji-embroidery in font "Dragon God" is absolutely awesome and a real eye-catcher that makes the belt stand out of the crowd of other belts. For a belt of this quality, style (and price), I would suggest to deliver it in a nice box instead of a plastic bag. That would give it the ambience it deserves.
Customer service is excellent and every detail is double-checked to avoid any errors. Japanese perfection - Thanks!
